My role
Head of Design / Senior Designer
After redesigning the brand identity for Landkreditt, the next step was bringing the new brand into the company’s entire digital ecosystem. The challenge was not to rebuild the platform from scratch, but to modernize an existing website through stronger hierarchy, cleaner layouts, and a more contemporary visual system, all within a six-week timeline. The result was a calmer, more personal, and more modern banking experience that unified Landkreditt’s different business areas under one cohesive system.
My Role
I led the UX/UI direction across the website ecosystem.
This included:
translating the new brand into digital experiences
defining the design system
modernizing existing page structures
creating reusable UI patterns
defining typography, spacing, and hierarchy
shaping the visual and image direction for the platform
I worked closely with Landkreditt’s marketing and IT leadership, while implementation was handled by an external development partner.
Problem
The existing website no longer reflected where Landkreditt was heading as a brand.
The experience felt visually outdated, relied on older UI patterns, and lacked consistency across banking, insurance, funds, and real estate.
At the same time, the platform needed to evolve from feeling like a niche agricultural bank into a modern financial brand for a broader audience.
The challenge was doing this without rebuilding the underlying system.
Insight
The opportunity was not to redesign behavior.
It was to redesign perception.
By improving hierarchy, simplifying layouts, and creating a more unified visual language, even existing modules could feel significantly more modern and premium.

System Design
Instead of replacing the platform, I focused on creating a stronger design system around it.
The work centered around:
cleaner layout structures
more consistent component behavior
improved typography hierarchy
unified spacing and rhythm
modernized UI patterns
cohesive imagery and brand expression
This created a shared visual language across all business areas while preserving familiarity for existing users.

Solution
The final experience modernized the entire website ecosystem without disrupting the existing platform structure.
The updated system made Landkreditt feel:
more personal
more contemporary
more accessible
and more visually distinct from traditional banks
A major part of this came from the balance between the identity system and the interface itself — where the logo, typography, imagery, and layouts worked together as one consistent experience.

Impact
The redesign helped align Landkreditt’s digital presence with its new brand identity.
It created a scalable and unified design foundation across multiple business areas while significantly modernizing the perception of the company online.
Most importantly, it showed how strong systems thinking can transform an existing product without rebuilding it from scratch.

Key Insight
Modernization does not always require reinvention.
Sometimes the biggest shift comes from creating clarity, consistency, and stronger perception within the system that already exists.
